Remote not responding

All of the sudden my remote is not responding. I got up in the morning after using MythTV and sat back down this even to a remote that had stopped working. Its not actually to remote thats broken because I can see the TV's remote lite flicker when I press a key on my MythTV remote.

I have a PVR-150 (color buttons in a line).

Here is my /dev/lirc*:
ls -l /dev/lirc*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 Jan 6 19:33 /dev/lirc -> lirc0
crw------- 1 root root 61, 0 Jan 6 19:33 /dev/lirc0
srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jan 6 19:33 /dev/lircd

cat /dev/lirc
cat: /dev/lirc: Device or resource busy

irw gives no output when I press buttons.

~mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc has the correct information in it.

I hope I have given enough info for proper diagnostics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,
~EToreo

Restarting the service allows cat to work, but no output happens when I press buttons on the remote.

lircd reset

I will try again when I get home from work, but I think what happens is this:
The service restarts just fine and then cat /dev/lirc works but give no output.
