2)How do I turn on the TV-out from the Pundit board? I tried just hooking an Svideo or a standard yellow video cable from the TVout connectors to my Sony TV, but I never see a signal on the TV.
Thanks for any ideas and sorry to be such a moron!

Well you got half of it right
Well you got half of it right regarding lirc. Now all you need to do is this as root:
cp /usr/local/pvr/lircrc-haupgrey.txt /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc
Restart lirc or just reboot and you should be golden. You don't say what version your Pundit is. So I'm gonna guess it's the R cause thats what I have. You'll need to edit your xorg.conf file. I just recently posted my entire xorg.conf. You should already have the fglrx driver in place.

I'm using S-Video out on mine. Mine works beautifully. Now I hope I just guessed right :-).

Thanks mate!
I'll try that lirc thing asap.
Unfortunately, I'm a generation behind (in most arenas) and I have the previous Pundit (I think you had that before?). The manual says AB-P 2600. The box says AS Pundit BB P4 533.
I will compare xorg.conf's.
Thanks much.
OK you have the SiS chipset t
OK you have the SiS chipset then. I have one of those also. So you'll want to use the "sis" instead of "fglrx" driver. And that xorg.conf I pointed you to won't work correctly so use this one instead:
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/xorg.conf-pundit.txt
In the section "Device" part, change to want you want either SVIDEO or COMPOSITE by commenting it out. Once you get that working you then might need to change the brightness and contrast. Do that by checking off the "Use Xv controls" in the frontend setup under TV Playback I believe. Then when your watching livetv you can adjust these by toggling the "F" key.

ok, moron (me) is back
So, the requisite 4 months have passed.
I had gotten to the point where I had MythDora running on my Pundit with a monitor attached. It all works pretty well - I can record, playback, some of the remote buttons do things, etc. Pretty neat.
Now I finally got around to uncommenting the SVIDEO line in the xorg.conf file and hooking it up to the TV. Hmmm sounds like you have done things correct. Make sure that TV-Out is being used in your Bios setup for your Pundit. Not sure what video chipset your using on the Pundit. I may need to see your xorg.conf file. I'm almost postive it's a setting in there. Are you in NTSC land or PAL?

Actually the chmod I gave you should have been chmod 666. Try that instead. If that still doesn't work then there is a chance that your burner doesn't like the media brand your using.
