TView99 Tuner Card Remote Installation

Hi
I have successfully installed MythTv and it works great. I would like to get the remote AS-218 working but am not sure how to reconfigure lircd to use it. I think it uses the lirc_gpio kernal module but none of the remotes on the initial install look like they use this. I have the AS-218 config file but can somebody give me a runthrough on what changes I need to make in the modprobe.conf file etc.

I tried looking at the Wiki and everything else I could find but most only seem to cover the serial and USB setups. This is the first time I have used Linux for anything. I managed to sort out a problem with the wrong tuner being detected on my capture card by modifying modprobe.conf but I am a bit lost on this one
