DVB setup

Help!
Im trying to setup the dvb side of things. Searching around it appears I should run scan or dvbscan with the local conf file for my xmitter (Winter Hill).
I cant find either of those two apps on the system. Ive tried an apt-get install linuxtv-dvb-apps but apt says the latest version is already installed.
Any tips on how to find the seed frequency to put into the mythtv-setup channel scanner?
thanks

If all else fails, you could try this dvb rpm.

Thanks for those pointers, wa
Thanks for those pointers, was able to dvbscan and pickup a seed frequency, then mythtv-setup to scan for all the channels.
However I seem to have something wrong as the DVB channels are not playing back with the PVR350's hardware decoder. Its easy to tell, as its, very jerky, sounds breaking up, sound is output via the sound card not the 350 and the OSD is not alpha channeled by the 350. (ie its no longer tranparently displayed over full screen video, but rather opaque with a video 'window').
Any pointers on where I can look for this. Ive tried messing around with the DVB card setup's advance settings and tried all of them without success?
Thanks

Eeew, I'm really not that good with this since I don't use either one of those cards. The only tip I can think of off the top of my head is have you checked off using the 350's hardware decoder in mythtvsetup? If thats even relevant to this problem...
I'll look around and see what I can find.

Hiya, had a little play aroun
Hiya, had a little play around before setting off for work and it seems to be working.
The PVR350 TV out was working great if watching something captured by it. The problem appeared to be myth not treating the DVB capture as an mpeg source that the 350 could play.
In the advanced options on the DVB card I played around some more and 'fixed' it. Had to go back to PS as the stream type as the 350 cant understand TS. Also had to enable the DVB hardware decoder. Now why that worked Im not completely sure apart from with hardware decoding there is more filtering done on the card so maybe the stream is more pure for the 350 to handle.
Anyway its all working great now.. just need to change the channel numbers and callsigns so that the box maps the channels common to both sources as the same.
Still not managed to get the web front end working but watching and recording off 2 sources was more important.
This really is a great distribution, keep up the good work.
BTW if you want, I can upload the files to a uk webserver and send you the links. Just let me know which files you want storing. Cant offer a web page at the moment so the links from your site would have to be direct to the files.
