I want to upgrade to a sata drive. right now I have a 200 gig ata 133 ide maxtor.I would like to put it in a windows machine. what would be the easiest way to remove the linux partitions. windows wont even load with this drive as it is now.

I have used linux fdisk to do just what you need. (Of course you need the drive to be unmounted on a linux box.) Another tool that works is partition magic. It is its own boot disk. I have also used an old DOS fdisk to delete the Linux partitions. I think it called them "other." Good Luck.
