MythDora1.5 and IR transmitter

If i remove SHIFT_ENC or RC5 it loads, but the remote does not seem to work. I can see data being sent, but they dont work. Im going to have to find an ir receiver that runs the same as freq as this one and then record all the buttons. </p>\n<p>Apparently the Australian satelite boxes are the same as the SA ones. Does anyone have a working remote in lirc for the Australian boxes? Im making a simple serial IR transmitter.
In setting up my myth box i did the following

/etc/modprobe.conf
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
alias char-major-61-1 lirc_serial **
options lirc_serial irq=4 io=0x3f8
install lirc_i2c /sbin/modprobe ivtv; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install lirc_i2c
install lirc_serial /bin/setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install lirc_serial **

** indicates lines added

when the system boots only /dev/lirc and /dev/lirc0 gets created.
i then do a modprobe lirc-serial and it creates /dev/lirc1
dmesg gives me :

lirc_serial: auto-detected active high receiver
lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0

then i try irsend

[root@MythDora ~]# irsend --device=/dev/lirc1 SEND_ONCE Multichoice_DSD910 ok
irsend: could not connect to socket
irsend: Connection refused

i then added

/sbin/modprobe lirc_serial
/usr/sbin/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 --output=/dev/lircd

Ok, i removed all flags except for the RC5 and it works. With the simple ir transmitter, the transmitter LED has to be almost flat infront of the receiver LED for it to work. Im gonna be building the more powerfull version...
