I have two questions, and really appreciate any help with solutions. I have searched and looked at a number of sites but cannot find anything - problem just missing the obvious
1) when we setup a manual recording (we are recording off a custom satellite receiver box for homeschooling (so no published guide) to record in a specific time slot going forward - it only schedules TWO weeks worth of recordings, and after the two weeks we have to go in and edit the recording to add more weeks. Not sure why it doesn't just keep going, what are we missing here?
2) The picture quality with our PVR 500 card is not that great, the color is washed out and we see some grain/snow. We are using mythdora 3.2 and H PVR 500 card. Not sure if I should try swaping out the xorg.conf file with the xorg.conf.epia or if there is a setting to tweak in 3.2. I did modify the resolution to 720x480 which helped a little - but the color and washout issue sometimes makes watching live tv or recordings rough.
Many thanks in advance.

1) There is an option to have mythfilldatabase run on it's own. This is in the frontend setup under General I think. Just check it off and have it run at a specific time.
2) What video card are you using? Do not switch out xorg.conf unless you know what your doing. You will find that things will not work at all if you do this incorrectly.

Thanks for the quick reply and your hard work on this build.
I am using a ATI Express 200 video card, part of the motherboard from asus:

I have the hauppauge 500 card as stated above. I have not tried the no deinterlaced option yet.

First off I can tell you do not expect too much from the ATI card. There is no hardware accleration using TV-Out. Only to CRT/LCD and only then if your card is supported by the fglrx driver. It should be. The deinterlace will help but not sure how much.

Thanks for the reply. If I were to get another card for the box, which one or ones are most supported to have higher video quality?
Thanks - Greg
