Can I configure mythtv as a video player only?
I'm trying to replace my xbox running xbmc with something that will play hdtv clips.
I've got a gigabyte mce machine, and it installs mythdora just fine but I'd like to strip out all of the tv from the menus and just have prerecorded videos,music and pics.

First, let me say that I fully concur with Dennis' remark; as well, once you go molesting the install he has prepared, don't expect any more support ;)
Though you can't take away the base mythtv functionality, you can remove the appearance of that functionality. Take a look at
