I'm Going to be installing over my fc-6 mythtv 20.1 this weekend, in the hopes MythDora will fix my HD playback issue i've been having..

My config is the following:

nvidia 6800
p4 2.8Ghz
pchdtv - 5500 (used for ATSC tuning)
pvr 350 (used for analog cable tuning)
Samsung 46" lcd (connected via vga)
asus p4p800 MB.
1GB

just curious if anyone else is running anything similar and whether or not you encountered any issues in the quest for the ultimate DVR.

I know MythDora 3.2 had some issues with the pchdtv 5500 at setup.. (I believe it was v4l driver conflict or some such. (but even when without that unplugged the install process would hang for me...I'm crossing my fingers for 4.0)

Cheers

Heh, the quest has presented plenty of issues. MythDora, however, has fewer issues than others (AFAIK).

My system is not too dissimilar from yours:

    Biostar NVIDIA GeForce 6100-M9
    AMD64 x2 4200
1 GB PC3200 DDR (2x 512MB modules in dual channel mode)
    500 GB Seagate SATA/300 HD
Hauppauge PVR500 dual analog tuner card
AverMedia A-180 dvb - viewing clear QAM-256 on Comcast cable basic
MCE USB remote (bundled with PVR500)
    ViewSonic N3751w 37" LCD display
    Yamaha HTR-5835 DTS 5.1

I previously had MythDora 3.2 on it, and had some difficulty recognizing the HD card. Though I got that remedied, in the meantime I've built MythTV .20.1 on FC6 on this same machine, and is my current working stb. As well, I've DLed and am installing this weekend MythDora 4.0; rather than upgrade, I'm installing it anew on a different drive, working during the hours when there's no recording nor viewing.

So far I can report that the setup was *much* easier than with MD3.2. Both card were autodetected flawlessly. MythTV's digital channel scanning was fast and accurate (also a problem area with my previous installs).

The brief moment of HD playback I've tried so far seemed fine. I'll be giving that a thorough workout later this weekend. I won't be surprised if I need to tune the system a bit, though.
