Install went great - is there a way to make Live TV less jerky?

Hi there,
Congrats on some really great work guys. My old mythtv box was done off an FC4 build from Jarod's site.
I recently did a clean install of Mythdora 4. Rig is 3GHz (hyperthreading deactivated), 1 GB memory, PVR350. I am trying to use the PVR350 for capture and TV-out (it worked fine previously). Unfortunately things are very jerky during livetv playback, despite low memory and %CPU usage (i.e. 2-3% and 8%, respectively).
I tried setting mythfrontend to run as admin, set priority threading, tried different decoders, and matched the capture profile with the output (720x480).
Is there anything else that I might be missing? Everything else works great, and now I can't even track down my old myth version.
Thanks!
M
