Skipped a scheduled show?
Submitted by Ben_13 on January 6, 2006 - 1:17pm
Not sure if anyone can assist, I have a show set to tape every fri at 10am on the same channel and for some reason it didn't tape this morning. The duplicate check method is set to none so I assume it should always tape it. However in looking at the description from the show it was an old description but its a live morning show so no idea why the old description) as well in mythweb under the title it did say "rerun".
Anyway just wondering where I would look to find out why myth didn't record it. I checked mythbackend.log but everything in there is at least a few months old.
thanks again, mythdora rocks!

Just wondering if anyone
Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to see why the show wasn't recorded. I could understand if Myth thought it was a duplicate or something but it happened again last night for no apparent reason. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Ben
Not that this is an answer
Not that this is an answer but possibly a start.

Also have you looked into messing around with your recording priorities? This is in the frontend setup under Recording Priorities. I'm assuming that the levels indicated are nice values which means the negative values are more important.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
Hey, thanks for the reply. I don't think mythbackend is running in verbose mode so i'm not sure where to get at the files mentioned from the mailing list (I checked all over gossamer-threads without luck).
I do have some recording priorities setup but I haven't touched them , I have 2 pvr cards (150 and a 250) so it should have been okay. I regularly check for conflicts and I know there weren't any for the next few days. Just wondered if myth did think it was a duplicate all of a sudden is there somewhere in the Db that would indicate it?
thanks for your help

Actually I would try the
Actually I would try the easiest fix and that would be to clear your channel information in the DB and rerun mythfilldatabase. To do that, run mythtvsetup and answer yes to clearing channel info. Then do a mythfilldatbase and see if that helps any.

Hey,
Hey,
I did try that and I'm sure everything is okay. I was more looking for someplace to see why a show wasn't recorded. I know myth stores the shows in the db so it doesn't record again, just wondered if there is another table somewhere that shows "show A on monday at 1pm will not be recorded becuase its a repeat" and also be able to access this after the fact. No biggie, it hasn't happened again and the only thing that was weird was I had told it to record this show without checking for dupes. strange...
Well if you want you could
Well if you want you could always use Webmin to take a peak in the DB. If you have never used that before, just do your ipaddress:10000 at a browser prompt. Use root and password to get in. Then go to servers at the top then go to MySQL server. There you will see the mythconverg DB and when you click on that you will see all the tables. There is one called recorded and one called scheduled recordings or something like that. Just be careful of making any changes in there as you are root and you have the power. Thats about all I can think of. Hopefully wiping out your channel info cured the problem.

Oh yah I use webmin all the time (in the xbox guide I use it to setup some services), great add on to have! I poked around the db but all I could find was it seems to not have recorded it becuase it was a rerun. Strange, not a big deal though and I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for all the help.
