TV-out and monitor

This was only to get me going as I knew the driver was inferior and there had been xorg.conf files posted here I could use. So I did, I currently have the pundit (ati) xorg.conf file (see <a href=\"http://mythdora.com/?q=node/105\">the post</a>) but to my dismay my monitor went dark when I switched. I\'m sure this is the intended result as the pundit should be hooked up to a TV, which is my ultimate intention, however I would like to finish messing with things from my monitor (crt.) <br />\nI\'ve been trying to figure out how to display both at the same time, so I tried changing the line in xorg.conf that reads:<br />\n Option \"MonitorLayout\" \"STV, NONE\"<br />\nto Option \"MonitorLayout\" \"STV, CRT\"<br />\nbut I get the same result, nice on the TV but nothing on the monitor. And i tired using AUTO and reversing the order. Hi,
I finally got my pundit recently, and set it up with the vesa driver to get video (as that had worked on my previous mythDora setup.) This was only to get me going as I knew the driver was inferior and there had been xorg.conf files posted here I could use. So I did, I currently have the pundit (ati) xorg.conf file (see the post) but to my dismay my monitor went dark when I switched. I'm sure this is the intended result as the pundit should be hooked up to a TV, which is my ultimate intention, however I would like to finish messing with things from my monitor (crt.)
I've been trying to figure out how to display both at the same time, so I tried changing the line in xorg.conf that reads:
Option "MonitorLayout" "STV, NONE"
to Option "MonitorLayout" "STV, CRT"
but I get the same result, nice on the TV but nothing on the monitor. And i tired using AUTO and reversing the order. Now I’m thinking maybe there’s something missing, like another section in xorg.conf I need to change or add.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Not sure if this can be done. Try using AUTO, AUTO and see if that works. Keep in mind this was a hacked driver to work for the Pundit-R. You may want to look into a newer version and see if they've corrected things.

Edit - If you need to go back to the CRT and finish, then just use "CRT, NONE". That should work for your monitor.

You mean you tried the CRT NONE and that didn't work for your monitor? Hmmm that should have. Is this the xorg.conf file that I posted here? And how are you getting that file into your box, copy and paste?

Did you make a backup of your first xorg.conf file? So if your connected to the CRT ONLY, does it give you a blank screen?

Well it looks like your gonna have to make up your mind on what you want to do. If your done with what needs to be done then hook it up to the ole TV. Thats what I did on my Pundit-R.
