I am using the http://www.irblaster.info/distribution.html
I set this up before & could not get the ir blastr to work..
I really dont no why...the ir blaster is working this time..
I did not use the ir blaster setup in MythDora...
When I used the MythDora ir setup it would lock up my
com. port If i did a cat /dev/ttyS1 it would say
cat: /dev/ttyS1: Input/output error...
I deleted the /etc/modprobe.d/irblaster
and could check the port than...
I than followed the webste above...and it worked...

I really wish there was a better way to getting this too work...

What I don't understand is why do they have alias char-major-61-0 lirc_i2c and when I have it it doesn't work. It's the same thing. So removing the lirc_i2c from modprobe.d/irblaster worked? What else was missing? You reffering to the change channel script? I've reworked all this out for the new release but sharing what else you did would help me.

No it doesn't write to anything but modprobe.d/irblaster. Not sure why it's working all of a sudden. Others have reported that lirc_i2c interfers with lirc_serial so removing that line is needed but then the post says to put it in. The lirc_i2c is needed for users using PVR-x50 cards. Did you reboot or something to make it work?

Ok I reinstalled MythDora..
I ran the irblaster setup during 2nd reboot..
I also have a mceusb2 setup during install
I created the change_channel.sh with:

sleep 0.4 # note, you may have to tweak the interdigit delay up a bit

chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/change_channel.sh

Edit lircd.conf there was already my mceusb for my MCE Remote
I pasted my dish config file at the bottom of lircd.conf

and than rebooted again..
tried change_channel.sh 305

change_channel.sh 305
irsend: could not connect to socket
irsend: No such file or directory
irsend: could not connect to socket
irsend: No such file or directory
irsend: could not connect to socket
irsend: No such file or directory
irsend: could not connect to socket
irsend: No such file or directory

Then edit /etc/rc.d/rc.local

below... touch /var/lock/subsys/local
typed the following:

/sbin/modprobe lirc_i2c
/sbin/modprobe lirc_serial
/usr/sbin/lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 --output=/dev/lircd
/usr/sbin/lircd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc1 --output=/dev/lircd1 --pidfile=/var/run/lircd1.pid

reboot...

works like a charm..
I guess the rc.local is the trick...

Don't make sense. Did you remove what was in the irblaster file and try it? I wonder since your using the mceusb module for your remote but your cards are PVR-x50's(lirc_i2c) if the modules are conflicting with each other.

just use the modifications for modprobe,lircd.conf,rc.local...

I've got the irblaster working to change the dish (transmitting), but had to strip out the remote control to the pvr-150 (receive) to get it to work.
