System freeze when loading emu10k1 driver
Hi all,
I picked up a Soundblaster Live (CT4832) PCI card to get digital output, however when this card is installed it prevents the system booting - it just freezes when UDEV is starting.
I did some invesigation and it seems to be caused by 'modprobe emu10k1'. Blacklisting this module allows MythDora to boot properly.
Manual 'modprobe emu10k1' causes machine to freeze instantly.
This card also causes Ubuntu and DyneBolic to freeze, a different machine/motherboard shows the same problem.
Any suggestions?

PCI info is as follows.

Yeah, I would look into getting another card or returning that one. I have one and it works perfectly.

Hi,
I acquired another emu10k1 based card (Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 SB0100 PCI) and this one appears to work fine.
I am not convinced that the previous card is faulty (as lspci, etc works). I'll try and find time to shove it in a Windows machine at some point to see whether it works there - if so it's an alsa issue....
Cheers,
