Starting udev then...

Nothing. Ive just installed Mythdora and upon boot everything is looking fine and then it says "Stating udev:" and then the screen goes off then come back on.... but with every other letter missing and then it does nothing.
Im a total linux noob, i played around extensively with knoppmyth about 10 months ago, but cannot remember for the life of me how anything commandline wise works, although i can try and look the basic command line stuff up if necessary,

tried all that. it wont even
tried all that. it wont even boot with my hauppauge pvr 500 removed. i turned off the onboard sound and usb. i have a via chipset and an nv 5200. sorry for my grammar posting from my psp
Via chipsets are known to be
Via chipsets are known to be troublesome with Linux and especially with PVR type cards added in.

is there no way to get it working with a via? i dont wanna use windows mce
