Not Recording for some reason....

Hi All,

I installed MythDora 4.0 and installed brilliantly. I was able set it up properly with scheduledirect.org. I'm running on P4 Intel box, DishNetworks and PVR-150 MCE. Please note that IR Blaster is not installed.

I selected a program from the program guide to record and selected "record this showing only" from the next screen and hit the save button. The record sign came up in the guide and it showed up "upcoming recordings" but I didn't see the system is recording any .mpg file but the lock file is there under recording directory. I checked the Backend Status and it said Tuner 1 is not recording.

So, I'm puzzled here.... Please HELP!!! SOS>.....

I like to solve this problem first now since I can't go forward. I installed PVR-250 card in mythdoa in backend setup for video capture where I'm get "PVR250 Install: Failed to open the card" message. I search the forum but didn't see anything special solution unless if you can pin point me to right thread.....

Hi All,

When I select any my fav channels from 2 - 44 the recording works ("Record only this showing.").. Now, if I select channel 105 (USA) or above and select "Record only this showing" it doesn't record for reason.

Well what time does the recording start? Choosing the "record this showing only" isn't a manual record option. It just means that it is slated for that time slot you have chosen.

Hello ::: d00dtv,

The program guide I select a program from current time. So, let say the time is 10:00 PM EST and I selected a program starts at 10:00 PM ET. It say recording but when I look backend status no recording and check storage/recording directory no .mpg file. Also, I picked a future program for recording and the program didn't get recorded.. Puzzled....

Maybe, I should check the log file. BTW, where is the log file? I'm assuming /var/log/mythdora....

Okay, I installed PVR-250 properly and went through the install correctly this time.

I set the channel free to us-cable in general and input source setup but same result after running mythfilldb.sh. I'm 100% sure that I selected "mpeg-2 PVR-X50" option from the drop down list. BTW, I'm assuming that when you mentioned that PVR-250 setup as MPEG-2 via Capture Card setup....

Your doing something seriously wrong. This card is the bread and butter of MythDora and just works. Can you even watch LiveTV? Also you are NOT supposed to be using the upgrade script and I think you are. I have this well documented on the main page for users needing to upgrade.

I can view LIVE TV and record Record channels from 2 - 44 but anything above 100 channels I can't record show and I get failed.

The only updated thing I ran which was "yup upgrade \*myth\*" for scheduledirect.

Hummmme but again I ran "/sdxmltvsetup.sh" first ... and the above yum line. So, I wander this screwed up.

Should, I do another reinstall.... Please note that I installed MythDora 4.0

The fact that you can view

The fact that you can view channels 2-44 and nothing above 100 is because you don't have the correct channel frequency stated. This goes back to my prior post about changing it in mythtvsetup. As for your upgrading, you should be OK as long as you did the yum upgrade way.

As I mentioned beginning of the thread I didn't install IR Blaster Connected so the channel switching fails. When I place "bin/true" in the external channel and the record channel 406 works.... So, I'm trying to install IR Blaster and I followed instruction but it's not working for some reason so I'm digging to find the cause...

You shouldn't need the two lines listed in modprobe.conf under IR setup. Those are taken care of in rc.local. I can see that your STB doesn't recognize the OK command so try changing that to ENTER in your channel change command. Once your done with that then reboot. This all depends on if you have the proper lircd.conf for your STB appended to the lircd.conf.

I followed your suggestions and it worked like a charm. BTW, I'm using DISH1 profile so enter didn't work but select worked. Now, I record shows.. wowwwww weeeeeeeee..

Exciting journey for me and I can't wait for the next version of MythDora...
