Best CPU for mythdora

So I have had one or two issue recently with my myth tv box. I went on holiday, and when I got back the power supply and motherboard were both toasted. I gues sone failed and took the other out.

Ever since then I have had problems (could not replace the MB with the exact same model I had before). Mainly lockups and freezing issues. So I'm taking this opportunity to buy some new hardware and use MythDora.

I am currently looking at the ASUS SKT-AM2 M2N-MX MotherBorad, as its nice and small, and has the GeForce 6100 onboard VGA. It can take a number of different AMD processors, and I'm not sure which is going to be best for my application. I'll be using it purely for DVB-T, using a Nova-T 500 (dual receiver) card, and one of my existing nova-t cards to give 3 tuners. You never know I might end up putting 2 of the nova-t 500's in it instead, but thats probably overkill at the moment really.

The MB supports the following processor (max speeds listed)

AMD Sempron 3800+
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
AMD Athlon X2 5200+
AMD Athlon 64 FX-62

So if anybody has any ideas on which series woudl be best, please speak up. I suspect then 64 ones are not worth paying any more for as MythDora is only 32 bit, right?

Ben

DVB tuners eat resources

DVB tuners eat resources like mad so if your gonna do high def i would go for the AMD Athlon X2 5200+ or the AMD Athlon 64 FX-62. For standard def all of them will do great. Now the GeForce 6100 onboard VGA will not do mpeg4 coreavc in hardware so if thats in your plans the 5200+ and a couple gigs of ram.
hope this helps

Charging for TV that is already paid for with commercials is stealing.
