Hi all
A quick question?
i already have FC4 installed - but would like to install mythdora as a whole package, can i do this with out breaking my dual boot setup. I'm not worried about installing over the current installation of FC4 but i do want to keep the dual boot config and partition setup as i want to keep my windows xp data.

Can anyone help?

Paul

This shouldn't be a problem.

This shouldn't be a problem. Just do a custom install and install MythDora on the partition(s) you have for FC4. It will ask you how you want to boot things so you will have to create this. I'm not sure how you have things booting either from Windows or Linux. Linux is easier in my opinion. The FAQ section has a How-To on a custom install.

Well the only other tips I can give is be careful in what your doing and take a look at my custom install guide to familiar with it. It's exactly the same as a normal custom FC4 install goes so if you've done it before then things should go alright.

also - i've had problems setting up the tv-out for my nvidia 6600GT Geforce under FC4. Is this already setup within the package of mythdora?

many thanks again
Paul

This card should work fine.

This card should work fine. Just tell it to use the proprietary drivers when asked. The initial install won't install using a TV so make sure your using a CRT ;-). Once installed, you can look in the extras directory on the disk and there you will find an Nvidia xorg.conf example that you can tailor to your needs. Also be sure to check out my fix for the glx workaround thats in the FAQ. But you shouldn't have any problems getting TV-out to work on an Nvidia card.

P.S. - By your username I would sware your name was Dave. Damn tricky!! hehehe
