Finally got everything up and running. Only real issue was getting tv-out to work on my old GeForce4 MX4000 video card. Every time I tried to modify xorg.conf using the methods described in the forums, X wouldn't start. I finally downloaded and installed the drivers available on the nVIDIA support site, and got it running.

I also setup the FireFly RF remote (I was previously running Snapstream), and it worked first time.

My master backend has 1.9TB of recording storage using an old 3ware ATA RAID card and 8 320GB drives in a RAID 5 configuration with a hot spare. My root drive is 2 250GB drives setup in a RAID 1 array, using linux software RAID. I have two PVR-250s and a PVR-500 for 4 tuner channels. Right now it's also running a frontend, but will eventually become a backend-only system once I get some frontends setup.

Thanks for a relatively painless way to get a system setup.
