Hello all,
I have my Mythdora 5 system setup and running fine (Thanks for the great work!!). However; I just bought a new HDTV and when I connected the cable to the TV it detected a bunch of HD channels (the over the air ones, like pbs, abc, cbs etc...).

I currently have my pcHDTV 3000 card hooked up to an OTA antenna, which works well but I get a lot of drop outs. Since I now know the comcast sends the HD signal on the wire I would like to hook up the pcHDTV 3K card to the cable and get the signals from it. When I do this there are a lot of choices for "Frequency" and "Modulation". I have tried a few combinations with no luck. Mostly I get a lock and the "No Tables" timeout.

Anyone have thoughts on how I can pickup these HD channels with the pcHDTV 3000 card and Myth TV (what setting do I use for the scan)?

Thanks!

Standard cable channels for

Standard cable channels for frequency and QAM256 for modulation are the most common.

P.S. The pcHDTV HD3000s Can do QAM just fine but they have a long-standing reputation for being sensitive to power supply noise in that mode. If you have any doubts at all about the adequacy of your ps and can't get clean QAM reception, it's probably time to swap in some new power.
