1) I searched all over the internets an didn't see any item as to why development was ceased, so I thought I might ask those who might know.
2) This site and forum is dedicated to MythTV and Torrentocracy was MythTV plugin, so it would seem a logical place to ask a general question.
3) I'm new to MythTV, I've donated to this site, and thought I could ask a n00b question. If there was a better source, then I presumed I would be directed to a proper site or source.

I misunderstood you. I thought you were referring to a torrent client called Whither and was asking here why it wasn't developed. So my bad. But the short answer is that module has been dead a long time and with all the lawsuits and sewing and MPAA etc etc, I don't think anyone wants to touch it.
