xfce problems

I may have also attempted to change my desktop to gnome, it my not have worked (according to other threads) due to autologin still being enabled. </p>\n<p>So my most immediate problem is that now when I double click on mythtv icon the following gets opened in kwrite:</p>\n<p>&lt;&gt;<br />\n[Desktop Entry]<br />\nEncoding=UTF-8<br />\nName=MythTV<br />\nComment=Record, playback and watch TV.<br />\nIcon=mythfrontend<br />\nExec=/usr/share/mythdora/mythfrontend.sh<br />\nTerminal=false<br />\nType=Application<br />\nX-Desktop-File-Install-Version=0.10<br />\nCategories=AudioVideo;Application;X-Red-Hat-Extra;<br />\nStartupNotify=false<br />\nGenericName=<br />\n&lt;&gt;</p>\n<p>Any ideas for where I might get started so that double click this icon launches mythfronted. After a little more looking my desktop icons for "Mythfrontend" and "Myth setup" show properties (right click) with "Kind: desktop configuration file"

I was able to copy my /usr/bin/mythfrontend to the desktop and it has properties with "Kind: executable" and clicking on this will launch the FE.

Oddly
>ls ~/Desktop
doesn't list either of the desktop configuration type of icons???? The executable icon is there.

I'm off to doing some reading about Xfce. Still I'd like to return these two icons to actualy launching programs.

I have solved much of my problem.

my
/usr/share/mythdora
directory was missing a lot of files. I have no idea how this happened, most have been part of some other package installing.

I reinstalled mythdora-1.5.50.md10.noarch
and this has helped a lot.

Thanks for giving me a place to vent.
