Hi
I'm so close to having my MythDora working as I like, but have 2 problems left:
1: I have my box hooked up to my TV (Via my AV Receiver) with a DVI - HDMI cable. If I have my TV and Receiver on when I turn the box on, all works fine. However, if the TV/Receiver are off when the box is turned on, I get no video output!
This is very frustrating if the box has turned on to perform a recording, I have no way of turning on my TV and watching, without restarting the box!?
2: sshd doesn't appear to be installed/running... how do I install it?
Cheers
Paul

Regarding your Monitor
Regarding your Monitor issues. I had a very similar problem, however my monitor was connected by DVI directly to my video card. Because my monitor was classed as an "LCD TV" and not a "LCD Monitor", the NVIDIA card would not accept the rebroadcast EDID signal from the LCD TV again when the monitor was switched back onto the DVI source.
I solved this problem by purchasing a DVI Detective from Gefen.
http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=4715 (this is the one I got)
The HDMI version is here:
http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
It stores your EDID signal from your monitor, and then constantly broadcasts it back to your video card. The Video Card has no idea that you are connecting and disconnecting your monitor, (or switching to different AV inputs) because it is fed a constant DVI EDID.
I have used this ever since I got the TV, and it is a reliable method of solving the problem. And, for me, it was *far* cheaper than forking out another $2000 for an "LCD Monitor" :)
Hope it helps
Jared

2: for most packages you can try (as root):
# yum whatprovides <package_name_pattern>and
# yum install <package_name>On my system, when I issue
# yum whatprovides sshdI get this output:
So try:
# yum install opensshThis should give you most/all of the ssh tools.

Thanks for that I've sorted
Thanks for that
I've sorted the ssh thing, so now at least I can experiment with the xorg.conf and still be able to log into my box from my laptop when it doesn't work!
I tried one suggestion I found of adding this to the Screen section
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"but that didn't work, and seemed to start creating issues with MythWelcome running...
Possible Solution
A possible solution looks to be to provide a custom EDID file by setting:
Option "CustomEDID" "DFP-1:/path/to/some/edid.file"
and I should be able to get the edid file by doing something like the following:
Applications -> System Tools -> Nvidia Xserver Settings
GPU 0 -> [Acquire EDID]
