I have an MD-10 frontend that crashes when it runs out memory. Every time I watch a video (generally avi but some wmv and mpg) memory is being used but never is never released. Happens with the internal player, mplayer and xine. I am monitoring over an ssh session using top. I watch the used memory climb and when the video ends or I stop, never released. Swap space is never touched. I have tried with Xv settings on and off.

I have 2 identical FE machines and both exhibit the same problem.

FE is as follows
iGoLogic mboard, Intel 855GM chipset
Pentium M 1.8GHz processor
1GB ram
4GB ide drive
QSI CDRW / DVD playback
Nvidia 6200 PCI graphics using S-Video output
Microsoft MCE IR receiver, Harmony 880 remote

Anyone have any thoughts?
