Even so, Myth still does not know how to handle 24/88.2 even though I can play it using Mplayer, VLC and so forth. Audio wise, 24/88.2 is more proper than 24/96 where 96 is simply a doubling of the audio track accompanying video\'s 48khz sampling whereas 88.2 is double the audio standard of 44.1.
\n
I was also under the impression that MythMusic would handle music streaming this time around. Three years ago I used my Myth box for everything, now I rely on external equipment to stream audio stations as it is not practical to close the frontend and open a program on the pc that normally runs myth itself. Available: mythtv-themes-0.23.1-1.fc12.noarch (rpmfusion-free-updates)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

There doesn't appears to be a mythtv-themes 0.24 package in rpmfusion, and I'm hesitant to force with rpm, or mix repos with atrpms (which does seem to have mythtv-themes 0.24). Using --skip-broken doesn't work, sadly.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks.

enable the mythdora-testing repo

i faced the same issue yesterday when i was trying to update my mythtv to 0.24.
you'll just need to enable the mythdora-testing repo. mythtv-themes rpm will be installed from mythdora-testing

Themes not up to date

The mythtv-themes package from mythdora-testing is an RC1 package and at least one theme (Blue Abstract) is not up to date and therefore slightly broken. I assume the final release will have more upto date packages.

Wierd I'm not seeing any available packages to update on rpmfusion in updates or updates-testing

I can only see 0.24-0.2.rc1 in mythdora-testing also...........

yum --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing check-update mythtv

I even ran yum clean all but still no joy

:(

dont worry they are there

dont worry they are there now, must have been a delay in propagating a mirror server?

Still only on some mirrors.

Still only on some mirrors.

0.24 has some really good features. The Videos group works great, the autopopulation of actual real available sound devices is one of the better ones.

Note: It's imperative that after upgrading from 0.23, you rescan the audio devices and pick one.

The upgrade went well, I'm completely lost in the new editing OSD

I've bound a key to E but I get stuck in the Edit screen and I'm unable to escape :(

no menu comes up either when pressing M via keyboard or remote

anyone else had any luck with this?

WoW! that was easy

After making a few snapshots I decided to dive right in. So far no ill effects. Live TV even works without locking everything up again!!!!! Haven't had the chance to check out the experimental ChrystalHD support yet.

I needed to edit the .repo files and comment out the mirrors. I also needed "yum install mythtv-0.24" instead of a simple "yum update mythtv" but after that all seems well.

M worked for me. I can't figure out how to change tuners in live TV any more but it automatically pics the correct one now so who cares. Mythweb now has little descriptions so you know which tuner "Encoder 5" is - nice.

Rolling everything to 0.24 tonight. The Live TV problems I've had since .23 and the HD-PVR have been taking a toll on the WAF. Looks like we have just enough time to get things stable before F12 EOL. Fingers crossed!

M works fine in other screens

M works fine in other screens just not in the editor.

The editor so far is the only real show stopper I've found, everything else is golden, looking forward to 0.25 now :)

jared is pushing through the update to rpmfusion.

I'm still on .23, but it

I'm still on .23, but it seems fairly safe to upgrade. The .24 packages have been in upgrades-testing for a while it seems. I know they've been updated a few times, but is there any reason none of them have made it to the standard repos yet? ...for f14.

Jared, thanks for all your work on this. You rock!

Why do people insist on

Why do people insist on calling him Jared? It's Jarod.

I've been using 0.24 for some time now and really no major issues. The biggest improvement by far is when I play h.264 encoded recordings from my HDPVR, I no longer get the artifacts at the bottom of the screen.

I have only been able to play 24/96 music on a different frontend running on SuSE but it is likely that it has the recent fixes as I just updated them a few days ago from packman. Even so, Myth still does not know how to handle 24/88.2 even though I can play it using Mplayer, VLC and so forth. Audio wise, 24/88.2 is more proper than 24/96 where 96 is simply a doubling of the audio track accompanying video's 48khz sampling whereas 88.2 is double the audio standard of 44.1.

I was also under the impression that MythMusic would handle music streaming this time around. Three years ago I used my Myth box for everything, now I rely on external equipment to stream audio stations as it is not practical to close the frontend and open a program on the pc that normally runs myth itself. It would then become just a pc running on a big TV rather than the appliance that Myth makes it into.

Davesworld: I try to keep up

Davesworld: I try to keep up with Jared Smith & Jarod Wilson. When I saw the post above mine, I assumed that was the correct spelling. Sorry for the mix-up.

You say that .24 is fine. I'm sure it is, but I'm asking if the packages in the testing repo are good to go.

Oh, yes, Jared Smith, of

Oh, yes, Jared Smith, of course. Both invaluable when it comes to Myth. You weren't entirely wrong then.

Sorry Jarod, still not seeing any new packages from 0.24-1 :(

Interesting. I can find the

Interesting. I can find the .24-1 packages for x86-64 on rpmfusion-free-updates-testing, but not or i386/i686. I can only find the .23 packages.

If I go to the webpage for the repo, I do see the packages for i386 and can download them too.

Are the fusion mirrors screwed up?

I have tried cleaning the yum cache on my machine, still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

What I did was take the

What I did was take the rpmfusion repo file and make the base repo (which is usually commented out) point to wilsonet. Jarod's mirror has the 386 ones as well.

The first section should look like this.

name=RPM Fusion for Fedora $releasever - Free - Test Updates
baseurl=http://mirror.wilsonet.com/rpmfusion/free/fedora/updates/testing/12/x86_64/
mirrorlist=http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=free-fedora-updates-testing-$releasever&arch=$basearch

gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora-$releasever-$basearch
