Update DB Schema on 10.21

I updated mythtv-setup in the Backend to have the static IP instead of the loopback address and I seem to be connecting to it. When I run mythtv-setup on the Frontend-Only box I get a message stating that the I need to update the database schema (on the Backend MD 10.21) in order for MD 12.23 to use it. The question is, can I run the latest schema on MD 10.21?
