I found some errors upgrading to the latest version 0.9.5 from rpm as the rpm here http://handbrake.fr/downloads2.php is built for fedora 14 so has some issues with glibc versions.

the version currently in the repos is 0.9.4 which appears to work fine from what I can tell, I've only been using this a few weeks for converting recordings to iphone compatible mp4's
