transfer or import

If it was a 2.1 version then all you need to do is backup the database and then save what is in /video/recordings to a DVD(s). If there are other directories you want to save such as music etc. then back those up as well. To backup the database do this:</p>\n<p>$ mysqldump -u mythtv -pmythtv mythconverg -c &gt; nameofthisfile.sql</p>\n<p>This backups the database only and not your recordings. If you have alot of recordings and burning them to DVD is impractical, then you can move them using Samba. This will allow you to map a drive directly from one recordings directory to another. Then just move them across the network. This can take long as well if your network is slow. hi i have got a new install of the latest mythdora but on a different hard drive we have hot recordings that i need to transfer or import into the new version install can someone tell me can this be done and if so how i.e. what files need to be moved and to what location can anyone help thanks forum hope to hear from someone soon

Depends on how old the previous MythDora version was. If it was a 2.1 version then all you need to do is backup the database and then save what is in /video/recordings to a DVD(s). If there are other directories you want to save such as music etc. then back those up as well. To backup the database do this:
