Hi all,
First off THANK YOU for this outstanding distro. Most my HW was detected, my PVR 500 works, TV out works. Now I just have to get my remote working.
I have a Via M10000 (so I'm using Mythdora 2.1u), a PVR500, and a streamzap remote. Initially, at install I selected one of the hauppage remotes. This got the lirc.conf file in /etc. I went ahead and finished up the install. Then when I got into Mythtvi exited out and in a command line I copied over a lirc.conf from http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/streamzap/PC_Remote, and a ~/.mythtv/lircrc file from http://mythic.tv/streamzap_lircrc. Then I rebooted. It didn't work. I then uninstalled lirc with a yum command (forgot the entire line). Then I got the latest lirc from lirc.org, ran ./configure --with-driver=streamzap, then make, then make install. Then I ran the appropriate modprobe and then I rebooted. When I got into myth I tested the remote and nothing happens. I open a shell and run irw and I get good output.
This tells me that the kernel sees my remote. for some reason mythtv doesn't. I tried ln -s ~/.mythtv/lircrc ~/.lircrc but that didn't work either. I'm almost out of ideas.
Does anyone out there have any ideas?
Thanks
-Chirag

Recommended method
Is installing any remote during installation then copying a new lirc.conf file the recommended method? I'll be installing 2 identical frontends and using the DirecTV D10 remote. I have a prebuilt lirc.conf.
If you have an already
If you already have a lircd.conf file, then you can just choose option #16 for no remote and use the one you have. But you will still need to create a custom lircrc file.

Hi, Thanks for the info on 2.32u. The remote works great now.

fixed it
In the lircrc file it was ESC. I compared it to a lircrc file I used with the 2.1u and noticed it should be Esc. I made the change and rebooted. I could have restarted lirc but I added samba support so restarting made sense. Thanks.
