Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Here is a possible fix for your dependancy issues (it worked for me):
Submitted by eyver on September 16, 2006 - 7:48am.
Nevermind -- something happened with the apt repositories. "apt-get upgrade mythtv-suite" worked perfectly for me about two days ago, but did not work today because, as stated before, libjack.so.0 was not installable.
So I went to http://rpmfind.net, put in libjack.so.0, and ended up running:
wget ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/PLD/dists/ac/ready/i586/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.99.0-1.i586.rpm
I ran "rpm -i jack-audio-connection-kit-0.99.0-1.i586.rpm" and after that I could run "apt-get install mythtv-suite" successfully.
And here are good instuctions for installing 0.20:
Submitted by Beast on September 14, 2006 - 2:02pm.
The steps I took from a relatively clean Mythdora 2.32 install were:
init 3
apt-get update
mv Titivillus /home/mythtv/
mv Titivillus-OSD /home/mythtv/
rpm --erase mythtv-theme-MythCenter
rpm --erase mythtv-theme-isthmus
apt-get install mythtv-suite
init 5
Those steps worked well for me, so hopefully they work for you too.
>>Those steps worked well

They did.. only error might be the theme packs but no worries.
Upgrade previously worked.
I upgraded to .20 a week ago with no problems.
I have since then got a new hard drive and did a fresh install of 2.32u with a view to upgrade using the instructions above to version .20 Unfortunately I get the following errors. Any ideas would be much appriciated. I know if I do a `apt-get
--fix-broken installthe whole thing will tank. I have also tried`apt-get -clean && auto-clean'> apt-get install mythtv-suite

Looks like your going to need to satisfy the missing dependencies first. These look to be the ones listed as Depends. What I do is visit http://rpm.pbone.net/ and enter the library it's stating and then install that package the library belongs to. Then try the apt-get way.

Thanks Dennis,
Thanks Dennis,
Gave your suggestion a go but ran into dependency hell. What I did was
rpm --erase transcode mythdvd nuvexport dvdshrink-addon mythpluginsand then
rpm --erase xine-lib kaffeine xineThen a
apt-get install mythtv-suiteand it it all worked well.
I then re-scanned all my channels and it has picked up the radio stations as well, without problem, so far so good. I do miss the extra menu (Reboot,Terminal etc) you added as I use it all the time. looking foward to the next release Dennis! thanks for all your effort.

I've run into a problem upgrading to version 0.20. My MythDora 2.32 installation is pretty clean... only about a week old.
I followed the instructions posted by "Beast" a few weeks back with this exception: instead moving(
mv) Titivillus and Titvillus-OSD, I removed(rm) them.I ran into my first problem with the
apt-get update. The respositories did not "cleanly" update. Not an ideal result but, sometimes it doesn't matter...Next, I removed the themes as noted above and erased the rpms as per Beast's instructions. After that, I ran
apt-get install mythtv-suiteand got a "broken packages" error. At that point I stopped and got back into the GUI (
init 5) and checked to see if everything was still working. MythDora/MythTV was still chugging along in v0.19. That's where I am now. From your post it seems that all I need to do now is "erase" a few more rpms then, run
apt-get install mythtv-suiteagain. Right?I'm at work. I'll try all this when I get home and report my results back to this forum. Thanks.

I'll just stick with version
I'll just stick with version 0.19 for now.
I tried several of the suggestions in the other thread on updating to version 0.20. So far all attempts have been unsuccessful. Yesterday I borked my system and chose to reinstall rather than figure out exactly what I had broken during my upgrade attempts.
I guess the safest and least painless thing to do is to wait until the next official release of MythDora. But, let's face it, if safe and painless were what I really wanted I wouldn't be messing around with open source... I'd just stick with commercial software.
I'll be more careful the next time I try to upgrade to 0.20. It sounds as if it will be a while before 3.0 hits the streets.

Hi Ctucker10,
Hi Ctucker10,
It appears the repositories have changed again. I think I got the same errors as you did. I could have tried to resolve all the missing bits but it was easier to just dump it all
rpm --erase transcode mythdvd nuvexport dvdshrink-addon mythplugins xine-lib kaffeine xineand get everything back to baseline and then install myth .20
apt-get install mythtv-suiteRegards NzCarrick
Re: Hi Ctucker10,
rpm --erase transcode mythdvd nuvexport dvdshrink-addon mythplugins xine-lib kaffeine xineWhy dump these particular packages?

It was the only way I could
It was the only way I could install .20. the other option was tracking down all the dependences through rpmfind.net and install 1 by 1.
