Subject line says it all - I've got a Freecom DVB-T usb stick I want to use with a new Mythdora installation. But after hours of trying things out I'm non the wiser. According to http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB_USB the stick should work, but it's very unclear how I should install the drivers/firmware.

Any help is really appreciated (please don't assume too much knowledge). I'm new to Linux, and I'm a little staggered by the learning curve!

Thanks,

Luke

The drivers and firmware are

The drivers and firmware are already included in MythDora. You should have answered yes to having a USB-DVB in the setup process. Then in mythtvsetup you should choose your device as DVB. You should see something about ATSC.

Ok, I wasn't absolutely sure

Ok, I wasn't absolutely sure what I'd answered when I installed Mythdora, so I've just installed it again, answering yes to having USB-DVB in the setup process. When I get to mythtvsetup in the capture card section there are 8 cards listed. The only two that mention dvb or usb are 'DVB DTV capture card (v3.x)' and 'USB MPEG-4 encoder box (Plextor ConvertX, etc)'. If I select the former it says 'Frontend ID: Could not open card #0! Subtype: No such file or dir'. If I select the latter the various drop down option boxes are blank.

Whichever card I try selecting if I go into input connections->scan for channels I get 'Failed to open card'

Any suggestions? I do appreciate any help - I don't think I'll be able to work this one out myself without investing a huge amount of time!
