Won't work in my new apt

When I was at home over the summer I setup a box, it worked fine. Right before I left I changed out the motherboard, cpu and ram. When I got to my apt out at school I found that i can no longer watch tv. I tried everything and ended up just reinstalling everything. And it still just gets static, except for a few channels (3,6,8,9,10) and those are really poor quality and very pixilated. I am wondering if its the way the cable is setup in my apt. Its one of those places that comes with everything included in the rent and they have a commercial dish network receiver and then that is split to all the apartments. would this have something to do with it, because its satellite or could it be something else?
Descrambler box?
Do you have some sort of tv top box that is suppossed to be used with the signal in your apartment? Or does a regular analog tv decode the signal just fine?
regular tv works
a regular tv decodes it just fine. i tried changing out the tuners and leaving just one in but still that doesn't work. I guess its possible that I fried all three tuners but not likely. Nothing else was damaged, and everything works fine, except for the tv.
Were you using cable at home
Were you using cable at home over the summer? If not, you might have to change the channel frequency table: it's in mythtv-setup, I think. Another thing you might try is to install tvtime and play with its channel settings to see if you can get a better picture. If you can get tvtime to look good, you should be able to get myth to look good.

Yeah, I was using cable at home over the summer. Im just going to go buy a new tuner and see if that works because I may have somehow fried all three of them. If it works, then I'll know the problem.
