Is the Technisat (Skystar 2)'s Remote TTS35AI supported?
Or, what's the quickest workaround for it, and it's little purple IR receiver's support on a serial port (TTY0)? And is there any way to convert the IR to a USB port?
thanks

No this remote isn't
No this remote isn't supported but it will work. I found a site that configures this remote. Scroll down to the Get remote configuration file and start there. Let's get your remote working with irw first then we'll go from there.
https://www.atm.helsinki.fi/~hienola/?page_id=118
Keep in mind this is for another distribution so the directories wont be the same.

Its funny that this has come
Its funny that this has come up. Just the other day I setup a system for a friend which used the exact same remote. It wasn't the easiest the get setup, but I got it in the end. I was planning on writing a guide including all the necessary config files but I forgot to get the lircrc file off his system before I returned it. I may as well give you the instructions now, so here they are:
--------------------From the Fedora Myth(TV)ology---------------------
1. Add the following to your modprobe.conf file (located in /etc/modprobe.conf):
alias char-major-61 lirc_serial
2.If your receiver is hooked to the first serial port, aka COM1, you'll need these extra settings in /etc/modprobe.conf:
options lirc_serial irq=4 io=0x3f8
install lirc_serial /bin/setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none ;\
/sbin/modprobe --ignore-install lirc_serial
3. If your receiver is hooked to the second serial port, aka COM2, you'll need these settings:
options lirc_serial irq=3 io=0x2f8
install lirc_serial /bin/setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none ;\
/sbin/modprobe --ignore-install lirc_serial
--------------------------------End----------------------------------
4. Download the lircd.conf file from here: http://people.aapt.net.au/~nadoos/lircd.conf
5. Move the lircd.conf file to /etc/lircd.conf
6. Restart lircd using "/etc/init.d/lircd restart".
7. Open an xterm window and type "irw". Hit enter and press some buttons on the remote. If you have done the following steps correctly the key presses should be registered within the xterm window. If it doesnt register the key presses, reboot the computer, and if that doesn't work make sure steps 2 and 3 have been done properly.
Without that lircrc file in my possession that is as far as I can help you out at the moment. I will try to get the lircrc file over the next week and post it here, but it isn't that hard to make your own if you want to get the remote running in mythtv asap.
Hope that helps
Hey thanks inm8. That sounds
Hey thanks inm8. That sounds easier than what I posted. Sure wish I could have known of this remote before I did 3.1. I could have added this in. The lircrc file is no big deal. It's really easy to create your own.

Remote problem solved
Hi Dennis,
I see you've been a busy guy again. I just switched over to Version 3.2 and I'm very pleased to report, it picked up my technisat remote directly, Issue solved.
But, with that solution, I discovered another little snag with my remotes hookup. It figures, I'd install it with a bad serial cable.
thanks again
