TV/Video Output 1/4" Wide in Centre of Screen
I am presently running MythTV 2.0 on a system that I built in the Spring and decided to build another system for my wife. The systems are not exactly alike - one is an MSI motherboard and the newer system has an Asrock motherboard. The majority of the other hardware is the same.
I have just installed 3.1 on the newer system, and when I select Watch TV or Play DVD, the output to the monitor is only 1/4" high in the middle of my screen. I had previously installed MythDora 3.0 and had the same problem. I thought it was a problem with either my Hauppauge PVR-150 capture card or my MSI FX5200 Nvidia video card. Prior to the installion of MythDora 3.1, I installed XP and tried GBPVR, Sage, and Beyond TV. All worked ok, so I figured it was an issue with MythDora 3.0;however, I now realize it is something more. I have tried inserting "options ivtv tuner=50 in modprobe.conf but this hasn't helped. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this problem?
My System:
ASROCK P4VM800 Motherboard
Celeron 2.4 Processor
MSI FX5200 128 MB DDR TV-Out/DVI Video Card (Nvidia Chip)
Hauppauge PVR-150 Capture Card with Remote
512 MB DDR
80 GB Western Digital Hard Drive
Here is the output of my dmesg:

I forgot to unplug my USB Linksys WIFI adapter when I installed MythDora over my XP OS, and I presume this may have caused this output, although I am not sure. I would greatly appreciate any help to resolve this issue. I would also like to say "Great Job" to all who work on improving MythDora. I think it is one of the best PVR platforms that is available, especially for anyone new to Linux.

This isn't an ivtv issue.
This isn't an ivtv issue. The card looks to be configured fine. If your getting an output on the monitor then it looks to be working. More than likely the problem is your xorg.conf. What have you done with that if any? I have a pre setup xorg.conf.NVIDIA made up in /misc/extras that uses NTSC and SVIDEO. Change to your liking and use that instead.

V/Video Output 1/4" Wide in Centre of Screen
I haven't touched the xorg file at all. This is a straight install selecting Nvidia for the card, and Hauppauge for the capture card. I have an extra 150 card sitting around but it doesn't have a remote port; however, I may try that after I give your other option a shot. Everything else seems to be working fine. I can see my Desktop, MythDora displays all other screens appropriately, and I have no issues with viewing the guide or weather stations.
Also, I haven't set it up to view on TV yet - still viewing through my LCD monitor until I get everything working.
Ah sorry. Thought this was
Ah sorry. Thought this was for your TV. My bad. Not sure why it's not working with an LCD.

No appology necessary. I
No appology necessary. I tried the xorg.conf.NVIDIA file and it had no effect on screen output. Still a 1/4" horizontal line across the centre of my monitor. I think this is a problem with the Hauppauge PVR-150 card as I tried the same system earlier with MythDora 2.32 and could not get it to work at that time. I gave up figuring I was doing something wrong and, since it was blueberry picking season, I put the system away. I will swap cards as I think there must be something wrong with the one presently residing in my MythDora2 system and I will post my results.
Well I know for sure that
Well I know for sure that 2.32 worked very well especially with Nvidia. Have you changed out video cards, if you have an extra one around?

No, I haven't attempted that
No, I haven't attempted that yet. I only have two Nvidia cards, and I don't want to mess up the system that is working. I have it changing channels with an ExpressVU 2700 Satellite and this was a feat in itself to achieve. If it was the Nvidia card, don't you think that it would cause problems with the PVR systems that I tried when I had xp installed?
I also tried running Xine from the start menu in Fedora/MythDora but I ended up with the same results. This is why I think it has something to do with either the capture card or the motherboard. One issue I had when xp was installed was after every reboot, xp would complain about a pci error that pointed to a modem driver; however, I have highspeed cable and the only way I could resolve this was to install the modem driver (never seen this with any other systems I've built). Could this have something to do with my problem. I entered the BIOS and there was no option to disable this.
Oh, and before I forget, "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and thank you for all your endless support - you are the only person I know that answers forum questions so promptly and so efficiently. I continually monitor this forum because I think it is one of the leaders in the MythTV arena. Although I have tried other PVR applications, I am totally commited to MythTV as I haven't found anything that compares with the final output. And, I can refutably say that I have experienced "The Gates of Hell" on my system. Presently listening to "On The Border" by Al Stewart.

This is a very good possibility. An IRQ conflict can reak havoc. If this motherboard has a built in modem there really should be a way to disable in BIOS. Have you updated the firmware on it in a while? Sometimes they add the ability to do this.

True. But Windows and Linux are just a little different :-)

Thank You so much. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too. I try to do my best. It maynot always be the right answer all the time but I give it the ole college try.
